Description

        Duties/Responsibilities:

Cooking & Food Preparation

  • Prepare and cook a variety of menu items according to standardized recipes and portion sizes.
  • Follow proper food handling, storage, and safety procedures at all times.
  • Assist with menu planning, food rotation, and inventory management.
  • Operate kitchen equipment safely and ensure proper maintenance and sanitation.
  • Monitor food temperatures and presentation to meet quality standards.
  • Replenish food on the service line as needed during meal periods.

Serving & Customer Service

  • Serve and assist employees with meal selection efficiently and courteously with a friendly and professional attitude.
  • Maintain knowledge of menu items, portion sizes, and dietary restrictions.
  • Ensure the serving area remains clean, stocked, and visually appealing.

Cleaning & Sanitation

  • Clean and sanitize kitchen surfaces, equipment, utensils, and service areas.
  • Wash dishes, pots, pans, and other kitchen tools as needed.
  • Sweep, mop, and maintain floors and workstations in a safe and orderly condition.
  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations and maintaining personal hygiene standards.

Specific Technical / General:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in food preparation or cafeteria service preferred.
  • Basic cooking and knife-handling skills.
  • Knowledge of local BVI cuisine is preferred.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand or walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain composure under pressure.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours.
  • Knowledge of basic sanitation and cleaning practices.
